A coalition of organizations in Marin County is teaming up to create a five- or 10-year plan for transforming the Canal neighborhood of San Rafael.
The Canal area is a predominantly Latino immigrant community that has long faced systemic challenges.
The coalition, which met for the first time as a steering committee on March 24, will spend the next six months looking at programs and initiatives.
